CBREโs latest hotel outlook shows that Perthโs hotel occupancy was at 79 per cent in the three months to December 31, compared with a national figure of 71 per cent. This compares with 2019, when Perthโs hotel occupancy was 76 per cent. The Western Australian capital also recorded a 7 per cent jump in its revenue per room (RevPAR) last year to $180.
CBRE noted that the future for Perthโs hotel market looked strong, with Perth Airportโs $2 billion redevelopment to accommodate 11 new international flight routes set to fuel demand.
โTravel to the state driven by the strength of the resource sector along with an increasing number of international flight routes ensures the Perth hotel operating market is well posed to continue its upward performance trajectory,โ – CBRE WA head of capital markets Aaron Desange.
WA should continue to benefit in the sector with Perth Airportโs $2 billion redevelopment to accommodate 11 new international flight routes set to fuel demand. Continued investment into WA stadiums has also attracted key global acts and sporting events, boosting the hotel market.
